7 Step Guide to get your Kitchen Christmas Ready

As a peak time for entertaining guests in your home, worrying about the state of your kitchen can add a lot of pressure to an already stressful time of year. Why not start making your way through our 7-step guide today. That way, once you have completed it, you will feel much more prepared for the festive season ahead.

1. Clear your benchtops.

Remove all papers and accumulated mess from your bench space. If it is important, file it. If not, recycle it. Once cleared, give your benchtops and backsplashes a clean with Supre Multi Purpose Cleaner to make them sparkle.

2. Clean out the microwave.

Christmas often means a full kitchen - not only with plates of food being prepared, but with family and friends wanting to help. The last thing you want is your helpful guest opening up your microwave to discover old food splatter.

3. Clean your oven.

Take the safe option and spray clean your oven with Blitz Oven & BBQ Cleaner. This will ensure your oven is sparkling and clean - ready for entertaining and the Christmas turkey or ham.

4. Clean out the fridge.

Fridges really get a workout over Christmas. Ensure your fridge doesn’t have any nasty surprises for helpful guests. Using Sanazone Odourless Disinfectant, wipe down all shelves, drawers and door internals. Don’t forget to also give the vents a wipe over to ensure good ventilation for cooling food.

5. Disinfect garbage bins.

There is not much worse than having guests over and having an unpleasant odour residing in our kitchen. Garbage bins are the common culprit. Disinfect your bins with Sphagnum Moss Disinfectant, some hot water and your guests will be delighted with the fresh aroma.

6. Clean out your dishwasher.

Dishwashers accumulate a lot of old food debris and water scale build up. Don’t leave descaling your machine until the last minute. Descale your dishwasher with Maxim Descaler a few weeks before. This will allow time for all of the debris that Maxim Descaler will evict, to well and truly leave the premises!

7. Get your serveware ready.

Give dishwasher-friendly utensils, cookware and serveware a run through the dishwasher using Citrus Dishwashing Powder, accompanied by the Citrus Dishwashing Rinse Aid. This will ensure that all of your serveware is sparkling and spot-free.

Don't forget to top up your supplies in the spice cupboard, cooking oils and pantry necessities. Polish any silver, ensure knives are sharp and give your cloth napkins and tablecloth a wash and iron with our Alpha Plus Laundry Powder.
